Mindfulness: what it is (and isn’t) and how it works

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, without judgement. It’s about noticing what is happening in your thoughts, emotions and surroundings with curiosity rather than criticism. Mindfulness isn’t about clearing your mind or forcing yourself to relax, it’s about being fully engaged with whatever is happening, even if that includes discomfort or difficult emotions.
